In the buzz of Swanage's recent summer activity, carnival week, new openings, live music festivals etc... The trendy seafront family ran #business 'The Cellar Bar' launched a new venture of a #seafood barbecue on their waterfront terrace and they asked me to shoot some publicity shots for them! The venture is jointly ran by their brilliant chef James Woodford who knows to to #cook a tasty prawn or two, with a little inspiration from Rick Stein on the smokey and very stylish BBQ rack.
It was great fun working with James, watching him prepare order after order, shucking oysters and sizzling scallops in garlic butter. The crowds couldn't help but stop and place an order when they caught a whiff of what's cooking. Generously, I was cooked some prawns to try myself and let me tell you... this is a different level of street/ seafront #food. Something better than what you can get inside some well known seafood #restaurants. On the photography side, this is my first time working with smoke, and mixed with the bright but stormy backdrop of #Swanage bay behind I reckon the shots came out pretty awesomely. Paired with James' addition of a decorative tuk-tuk and palm plants I tried to capture some stormy-bahamas-beach vibes. Once you've dropped by to taste this seafood, or perhaps their big-pan paella on specific days you'll certainly be imagining yourself in a slightly more tropical place than the #South coast of #Dorset.
I've really been excited to work closely with brands in my own hometown recently, photographing businesses at their best, but no matter what your needs are I'd love to hear them. Contact me for your enquiries be it #commercial PR #photographs or more personal projects, I'd be happy to help.
Here's a little collection of The Cellar Bar-B-Q on their first day of trading.
